Striped Chainmail Tie Complete! by ulfchild Striped Chainmail Tie Complete! by ulfchild
My plain ties are such a big hit [link] that I decided to invest in some stripes. Up for critiques and suggestions :)

3/16" diameter rings made with 17 and 18 gauge aluminum wire, super simple 4-in-1 knot.

Currently for sale here: [link] :)

How did you make the knot? I've been working on one and the knot is the only part I have left to attach and just can't get happy with it. :0)

It's kinda hard to describe how I make the knot, but I'll give it a go. I work my ties from the bottom up, when I get to the top I keep knitting for about 4 extra inches, I fold the extra rows I've made over the front of the tie and wrap them around the tie - connecting everything as best I can together in the back.

Pulling everything together and connecting it at the back is the difficult part, but that's where that nice little "fold" at the top of the tie comes from.

Does that help at least a bit?

I'll have to give that a try. I did mine from the bottom up as well, but had tried to make the knot as a seperate piece to connect, and it just hasn't worked.

Thanks for your input!! :0)
